How To Make Promade Fans: Three Common Ways For Beginner Lash Techs
Promade fans, in the context of eyelash extensions, are pre-made clusters of individual lashes that have been bonded together at the base. They are designed to speed up the application process for lash technicians and provide a fuller look for clients.
Creating lash fans, also known as volume fans, for eyelash extensions is a skill that requires practice and precision. If you are new to this industry, making fans may be a hard thing for you. This article will talk about three common ways to make lash fans, hope they can help.
The Pinching Method
The Pinching Method may look simple, but there’s a little bit of technical lash wizardry involved with getting them right and not ending up with twisted bases.
-First, pick up the needed amount of lash extensions from the strip.
-Then place them between your thumb and forefinger at the first knuckle of each, and in the meanwhile, still maintain your grip with your lash tweezers.
-When the lash base is safely between your fingers, gently lose the grip of the tweezers and at the same time pinch the base together with your thumb and finger.
-Please notice that do not roll the base of the fans here, otherwise, it will twist the base of the lashes and make the fans useless.
-If you need a little wider fans, keep pinching the base with your thumb and forefinger, then wiggle with the lash tweezers. When the width meets your needs, grip the top of the fans tightly with your tweezers, then dip the adhesive/glues.
You will get a perfect promade fan after the glue is dried. If you making fans during lashing, apply the fans to the natural lashes after dipping the glue. The pinching method usually produces a stacked pointy base, which is suitable for affixing to the side of the natural lashes.
The Rolling/Strip Method
The rolling method is more suitable for beginner lash techs, and for products, usually choose easy fan lashes that have glue at the bottom.
First, pick up the needed amount of lash extensions from the strip.
Then re-stick the lashes to the strip. Using the tip of your lashes tweezers to roll the bottom of the lashes, making the tops expand the needed width.
Picking up the fans with a strong grip, dip the glue to apply the fans.
This method usually creates a flat base, making these lash fans ideal for attaching to the top or bottom layers of natural lashes.
The Glue Cup Side Method
This method is more suitable to be used during the treatment. It will be much faster to make fans compared to the rolling method after becoming proficient. Using this method, you should choose glue cups with V breaches/grooves at the edges.
-First, pick up the needed amount of lash extensions from the strip.
-Then dip the glue/adhesive, and put the base of the lashes in the V breaches/grooves.
-Gentle loses the grip of the top, then wiggles the tweezers to make fans.
-Grip the lashes tightly after it is done, scrape lightly in the grooves a few times to remove any excess glue, then you can apply the fan to the natural lashes.
This method will also produce a stacked pointy base, it is better to apply the lashes on the sides of the natural lashes.
You can also make fans with some tools. A glue dot or glue strip is a good choice.
All in all, practice makes perfect, so our biggest tip of all is persistence! Remember that certain lash fanning techniques may be difficult for you to grasp initially, but with a bit of practice they'll become second nature to you, and you'll be creating gorgeous sets of volume lashes like a pro in no time!
