Lash Cart Set Up: One Crucial Aspect You Can't Overlook

If you're new to the world of lash extensions, whether you're aiming to start a professional lash salon or just want to perfect the art at home, one crucial aspect you can't overlook is preparing your lash trolley.

You might be thinking, "What's the big deal about a trolley?" Well, consider it your lash extension command center. A well-organized lash trolley is the key to smooth, efficient, and successful lash application sessions. It ensures that all your tools, products, and essentials are within arm's reach, saving you time and reducing stress during appointments.

In this blog, we'll break down the step-by-step process of getting your lash trolley ready, even if you're a complete beginner with no prior lash-handling experience.

Essential Tools and Their Placement

Tweezers

Multiple Types: Have at least two different types of tweezers - a straight tweezer for picking up individual lash extensions and a curved tweezer for placing them precisely on the natural lashes. 

Store them in a dedicated tweezer holder on the topmost shelf of the trolley. This ensures they are easily accessible and kept in a clean, organized manner.

Maintenance: Regularly clean the tweezers with a dedicated tweezer cleanser to remove any adhesive residue. Check for any signs of wear or misalignment before each appointment.

Lash Trays

Organization: Arrange your lash trays in a logical order. For example, group them by length (from shortest to longest) or by curl type (from natural-looking C curl to more dramatic D curl). Place them in a lash tray organizer on the middle shelf of the trolley. This allows you to quickly find the right lash extensions for each client's desired look.

Protection: Keep the lash trays covered when not in use to prevent dust and debris from settling on the lashes.

Adhesive and Accessories

Adhesive

Storage: Store your lash adhesive in a cool, dry place on the trolley. Use an adhesive holder to keep it upright and prevent spills. Make sure to check the expiration date of the adhesive regularly, as old adhesive can cause lash extensions to fall off prematurely.

Primer and Remover

Keep lash primer and remover nearby. Primer helps the adhesive bond better to the natural lashes, while remover is essential for any refills or if a client needs their lashes removed. 

Micro-Swabs and Eye Pads

Micro swabs are used for applying primer, cleaning the eye area, and other delicate tasks. Keep a box of micro-swabs on the upmost shelf of the trolley so you can pick easily whenever you need.

Eye pads are placed under the lower lashes to protect them during the lash extension application. Stack them neatly in a container on the same shelf as the micro-swabs.

Glue Cups/Rings

Nothing else needs to be said, these are also the items you must have. Stack them neatly in a container on the same shelf as the micro-swabs.

Foam and Rinse Wash Bottle

Lash foam can clean natural lashes, to provide a clean perfect placement status for extensions. Clean lashes are the key to perfect placement and longer retention.

Sanitation Supplies

Disinfectant Solution

Have a bottle of disinfectant solution readily available on the trolley. This is used to clean tools, work surfaces, and even the lash trays between clients. 

Notice: Make sure the solution is safe for use on all the materials in contact with the client's eyes.

Disposable Gloves

Keep a box of disposable gloves in an easily accessible location. You should change your gloves between each client to maintain proper hygiene.

Sterilization Equipment (if applicable)

If you have reusable tools that need to be sterilized, such as metal tweezers, a small tabletop sterilizer can be a great addition to your trolley. Place it on the bottom shelf, along with any necessary sterilization tablets or solutions.
